Course Overview
Triple Science provides greater depth and results in three separate iGCSEs: Biology (4BI1), Chemistry (4CH1), and Physics (4PH1).
The modular route spreads assessment: Unit 1 in Year 10, Term 3; Unit 2 in Year 11. This structure supports strong subject-specific exam practice and sustained improvement between units.

Biology
Cell biology & biochemistry; human systems and homeostasis; inheritance & evolution; pathogens & immunity; ecology & human impacts.
Chemistry
Atomic structure & bonding; stoichiometry and quantitative chemistry; energetics & kinetics; equilibria/electrochemistry; inorganic & organic families; polymerisation.
Physics
Forces & motion; electricity; waves & optics; energy and thermal physics; magnetism/electromagnetism; radioactivity & particles; foundational astrophysics.
Working Scientifically
Advanced experimental design, measurement precision, graphical analysis, error/uncertainty; evaluating models and limits of data.
Assessment
Assessment (Modular timing)
Each science has two written units:
Biology:
- Unit 1 (Year 10, Term 3) — written exam
- Unit 2 (Year 11) — written exam
Chemistry:
- Unit 1 (Year 10, Term 3) — written exam
- Unit 2 (Year 11) — written exam
Physics:
- Unit 1 (Year 10, Term 3) — written exam
- Unit 2 (Year 11) — written exam
Question types include multiple-choice, short answer, calculations, data-response and extended explanations. Practical skills are assessed through written papers using experiment-based contexts and data. Unit 1 results combine with Unit 2 results to award each separate iGCSE (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
