Component 1: Devising
- Create and perform an original piece of drama based on a stimulus.
- Document the creative process in a portfolio, reflecting on decisions, challenges, and solutions.
- Develop skills in improvisation, characterisation, and staging.
Component 2: Performance from Text
- Perform two extracts from a published play.
- Focus on interpretation, vocal and physical skills, and audience engagement.
- Assessment includes acting technique and ability to convey meaning.
Component 3: Theatre Makers in Practice
- Written exam based on a set text and a live theatre review.
- Analyse how playwrights, directors, designers, and actors create meaning.
- Explore staging, lighting, sound, costume, and performance conventions.
