Capital School Launches BYOD – A New Era in Learning

We are excited to announce the launch of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative — a landmark moment in Capital School’s history and a major step in our digital learning journey. This initiative gives pupils the tools they need to develop essential 21st-century skills while enhancing learning across the curriculum.

The scheme will roll out in phases, starting with Year 12, followed by Years 10 and 11 after the half-term break, before expanding to other year groups. This ensures a smooth and safe introduction of devices across the school.

All devices will be monitored using classroom.cloud, ensuring laptops are used responsibly in lessons. Pupils will receive training to use their devices effectively, and parents will have opportunities to see how technology enhances learning both in school and at home.

We will continue to balance technology with traditional learning, so pupils still benefit from pen-and-paper work and hands-on activities, alongside digital tools like Microsoft Teams Classroom Pages.

This is an exciting step for our whole school community. By embracing BYOD, we are preparing pupils to thrive in a rapidly changing world — developing skills, creativity, and confidence for the future.
