Course Overview

Course Content
Component 1: Personal Portfolio
- Develop a sustained project based on a theme chosen by the student.
- Explore observational drawing, composition, and use of materials.
- Research and analyze the work of artists, designers, and cultural contexts.
- Experiment with techniques and processes to refine ideas and outcomes.
Component 2: Externally Set Assignment (ESA)
- ESA theme released in January of Year 11.
- Students produce preparatory studies and a final piece during a 10-hour supervised practical exam.
- Focus on creativity, technical control, and personal interpretation of the theme.

Assessment
- Component 1: Personal Portfolio — 60%
- Component 2: Externally Set Assignment (10-hour practical) — 40%
